CASA for Children of DC is a leading voice in advocacy for court-involved youth (foster care and Juvenile Justice System) in the District of Columbia. CASA DC connects specially-trained volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocates to support vulnerable and at-risk youth in foster care and the juvenile justice system. CASA volunteers develop a mentor-like relationship with their youth and advocate for their youth’s best interests in Court, promoting greater outcomes and the opportunity to thrive.

CASA for Children of DC seeks to facilitate a culture that is inclusive and welcoming to all individuals. We recognize that to strengthen our organization, embrace all of our employees, and best serve our community and youth; we must nourish diversity and ensure equitable practices. We strive to make CASA DC a safe and empowering space for all individuals, regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, ability, or socioeconomic background. We value diversity of viewpoints, life experiences, talents, and ideas. Diversity and Inclusion are vital to our mission to ensure youth thrive in a safe and permanent home. A diverse CASA network helps us to better understand and promote the well-being of the children we serve. Embracing diversity makes us better advocates, enabling us to respond to each child’s unique needs.
